Nick McCorry

It can be said rowing has been in Nick's blood all his life as he was born on the famous boat race day in which Oxford won. Nick has been a keen sportsman growing up and played football for many years before taking up rowing. He has now been rowing for nearly ten years and the enjoyment and excitement is still there.
Nick started his rowing career as a coastal rower for Bexhill Rowing Club, he then moved into the finer class of boats when he went to university. He has taken pleasure and much success enjoying an unbeaten season in 2005 where he was part of junior senior crew that became South Coast Champions.
He has also been lucky enough to captain both Bexhill Rowing Club and Sheffield Hallam University boat club with a great deal of success.
Having rowed for nearly ten years he only has a few targets and goals left, one is to qualify and race at Henley Royal Regatta, the second is a far more challenging prospect and that is to row across the Indian Ocean as part of a team of 4. The first aim of this expedition has to be to finish it with out any problems or injuries, the next one will be to raise as much money for charity and increase the awareness of the charities we will represent. The last maybe tough but it is to win it, the Indian Ocean has never been raced before and we shall be competing against 30 other boats in the form of fours and pairs. To set the record for the fasted men's four across the Indian Ocean would be a massive achievement.
He sees this as a massive challenge and an experience that will stay with him for the rest of his life.
